Obituary: Ronald Bitner of Arlington Heights

Ronald was a past commander of the Palatine American Legion 690 and served in the U.S. Army and Air Force. Visitation will be held Wednesday and a funeral on Thursday.

Ronald Lewis Bitner, 74, of Arlington Heights., passed away January 25, 2013. 

He was the beloved husband of Mildred; loving father of Linda (Brian) Krafft, Scott (Lizabeth) Chocian and the late Robert Bitner; step-father of John (Yvette), Gary (Joyce), the late Brian and late Barry Gallagher; grandfather of 12 and great-grandfather of 6; dear brother of Wanda (Harry) Mc Ilvoy, late Evelyn (late Joe) Schwerthoffer, late Catherine (Frank) Wronowski, late Bill (late Betty) and his twin Don and uncle of many nieces and nephews. 

Ron served in the Army and Air Force and was a past commander of American Legion Post 690 in Palatine and a member of #327 MP BN NCO Association.

Memorial visitation will be held Wednesday, January 30 at 4 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 7:30 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine, IL.

Interment will be on Thursday, January 31 at 11:30 am at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated, to the "NCH Foundation, Ron Bitner Memorial Fund" for Cancer Services.
