Obituary: Nellie Edna Baker of Palatine
A memorial service will be held for Nellie Baker, a more than 50 year Palatine resident, on Saturday, February 23.
Nellie Edna Baker (nee Nelson), 94, lived in Palatine since 1959. She was born August 17, 1918 in Anaconda, Montana, and passed away February 16, 2013 at ManorCare Nursing Center in Rolling Meadows.
She was a charter member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Palatine.
Survivors include her daughters, Elizabeth (Kris) Gronert and Jeanette (Michael) Grondin; grandchildren, Stephen Kabaker, and Justin, Nicole and Rachel Grondin.

Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Hilma (nee Johansson) Nelson; brother, Einar Nelson; and her sister, Berta Zell.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 23 at 3 p.m. at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Rd., Palatine, IL 60067. The Reverend Christiansen will officiate. Interment was private.

There will be a gathering at her home 893 E. Capri Dr, Palatine, IL 60074 following the service.
