Obituary: Donald Wilson of Palatine

Longtime Palatine resident Donald Wilson will be honored and remembered on Sunday, March 10.

Donald F. Wilson, 84, a longtime resident of Palatine was born on March 25, 1928 in Oak Park, IL the son of the late Frank Benjamin Wilson and Mathilde Dorothea Sophie "Billie" (Havemann). He passed away on Sunday, March 3rd at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.

Donald was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Most important in Don’s life was the love he had for his family and his enjoyment of working in his garden. Prior to Don’s retirement he had worked for Sealtest Ice Cream for 25 years.

Beloved husband of Jutta Wilson and preceded in death by his first wife Mary Ann (King) Wilson; loving father of Carole (Michael) Serotzke and Sandra Cannon; step father of Dawn (Andrew) Stewart; cherished grandfather of Marcia (Scott) Pal, Craig Serotzke, Michelle (Rob) Perz, Katherine, Robert, Connor and Jacob Stewart; dear great grandfather of Quenten and Colten Pal; dear brother of Raymond (Akiko) Wilson; also surviving are nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation for Donald will be held on Sunday, March 10th from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated for the American Cancer Society, 1114 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
