John Joseph Lynch, 93

Services have been scheduled for John Joseph Lynch.

John Joseph Lynch, 93, was born June 11, 1919 passed away on June 23, 2012 at St. Joseph Home, Palatine. 

He was the devoted husband of the late Erma E. nee Steman, loving father  John Jr., James (Dorothy), Mary "Molly" (J. Dickson) Graff, William (Patricia), Sr. Maria Christine, LSP "Margaret", Richard, CFD (Elsa) and the late Thomas,; loving grandfather of 21; great grandfather of 14; beloved son of the late Thomas F. (CFD) and Mary Ann, younger brother of the late Thomas M., fond uncle of Drs. Sidney, Henry, and Louis Bernstein and many others; family friend of Margaret Sholund and Stephanie Lynch. 

A man of integrity dedicated to his Catholic faith, family and country.  He was an officer in the Coast Guard during World War II, retiring as Commander in 1963.  A graduate of Resurrection grammar school, St. Mel's High School, University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana.  He was a career investment banker; Director of Bond Club of Chicago and the University of Illinois Alumni Association: Past President of Illini Club; 50 year Member of University Club, Chicago; 4th Degree Charter Member of Knights of Columbus, Holy Ghost Council 4977.

John resided in Chicago, Inverness, and Bradenton, FL.  The Lynch Family deeply appreciates the loving care that he received from the Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Joseph's Home, Palatine. 

Visitation Tuesday, June 26, 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 11 a.m., Chapel of St. Joseph's Home, 80 W. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  Interment private at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.
