Irene E. Scarpelli, 87

A Funeral Mass for Irene E. Scarpelli will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Road, Inverness, on Thursday Jan. 5 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery Mausoleum, Palatine.  Visitation will be on Wednesday Jan. 4 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy. from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m.  Visitation will also be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Holy Family Church.

Irene was born in Italy on July 18, 1924, the daughter of the late Michele and Laura (Salerno) Turchiaro, and passed away on Saturday Dec. 31.

Irene was the former owner of Como Beauty Salon in Chicago for 10 years.

Beloved  wife of 64 years of Michael Scarpelli; loving mother of  Vincent (Debi), Paul (Kimberley) and the late Robert C. Scarpelli, Sr.;  cherished grandmother of Robert  (Erin) Jr., Michael, Daniel, Ryan (Gina) and Caitlin Scarpelli; great grandmother of Nathan and Owen Scarpelli; also survived by many  nieces and nephews; 2 sisters Lidia and Gilda preceded Irene in death.
