Harriet Mikes, 92, a former longtime resident of Palatine who opened Mikes Bike Shop with her husband, died on May 27.

Memorial visitation for Harriet Mikes will be held on Friday June 10 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5 p.m. at the , 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. Interment will be private.
Harriet was born Feb. 27, 1919 in Berwyn, IL the daughter of the late Fred and Hattie (nee: Novacek) Kratochvil and passed away peacefully on Friday May 27 in Tulsa, OK.

Harriet and her husband Fred opened Mikes Bike Shop of Palatine in 1959. Harriet worked alongside of her husband supporting him in the business in any way she could until retiring to Florida in 1979.
Beloved wife 56 years of the late Fred Mikes who passed away in 1995; loving mother of F. Brian, Paul (Konnie) and Wayne (Patti) Mikes; cherished grandmother of Lori, Andy, Danny, Michael, Jennifer, Matthew and Meghan.
