Glen Edward Thiel, 56, born July 5, 1955, he passed away on Friday May 4, 2012 at his home in Palatine.
Glen was born in Chicago and raised in Mount Prospect. He graduated from Forest View High School (1973) and went on to earn his A.A.S. in computer Science from Harper Community College (1982). Glen was a free spirit whose contagious smile and laughter will be remembered by all who knew him. He was a passionate diver spending much of his time in the tropics, volunteering and exploring reefs.
Glen was the beloved son of Robert and Dolores Thiel; loving brother of Gail (Steve) Butzen and Gene (Mary Jo) Thiel; Dear Nephew of Walter Thiel; and cherished Uncle of Michelle, Susan, Chris, Kimmy, Alyssa, Andrew and Zach; and lifelong friend of Tom McNicholas. Glen is preceded in death by his son Edward Leidenheimer (Thiel).
