Dillmann, Rosanova Remembered

Services are planned for Josef A. Dillmann and Angela Marie Rosanova at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home.

Josef A. Dillmann, 85

Prayers for Josef A. Dillmann, 85, of Palatine and Bradenton, Florida, will be said at noon Saturday, Feb. 19 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.

Services will proceed to S. Francis de Sales Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich for funeral mass at 1 p.m., with Father David Ryan officiating.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 18 from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, with the RGV German men's choir singing at 7 p.m.

Dillmann was born Nov. 28, 1925 in Germany, he came to the United States in 1954 and died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, Feb. 15 at home in Bradenton, Florida.

Dillmann worked as a regional sales manager for Sherex until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of the RGV German men's choir for more than 40 years. He was a wonderful husband and father, and was an inspiration to his grandchildren. Dillmann enjoyed being surrounded by his family and many friends. He loved to entertain others by playing the piano and singing. He also was an avid golfer who had two "hole-in-ones" in his lifetime.

Dillmann was the beloved husband of Edeltraud Dillmann (nee: Gennies); loving father of Carla (Gerhard) Kremer, Barbara (Mark) Altenberg, Daniel (Laura) Dillmann and the late Thomas Dillmann; loving grandfather of David (Krista) Kremer, Julia (Carey) Simon, Niklas, Jereme, Zakary and Zoe Altenberg, and Allison and Nicole Dillmann; fond brother of Isidor (Martha) Dillmann, Gretel (Wolfgang) Meurer, Heribert Dillmann, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Angela Marie Rosanova, 90

A funeral Mass for Angela (DeStevens) Rosanova will be Monday Feb. 21 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2515 Palatine Rd., Inverness. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 20 from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church.

Angela was born March 24, 1920 in Hazelhurst, Pennsylvannia, the daughter of the late Joseph and Grace (Conte) DeStevens and died peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 17.

She received her nursing degree from St. Mary of Nazareth Hospital. Angela and her husband were courageous pioneers with the development of numerous Downs Syndrome Associations, offering support and education to families with Down Syndrome children. They also were benefactors of Clearbrook Center, Kirk School and Little City. They were avid competitive ballroom dancers and Angela authored the popular book "Ballroom Dancing Made Easy."

Angela enjoyed teaching and playing golf with her children and grandchildren. She had a great love for people, she enjoyed meeting and making lifelong friends while cruising and traveling the world throughout her live. She endowed the ongoing Joseph and Grace DeStevens Memorial Lecture at Northwestern University Medical School and was a generous benefactor and active parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.

Beloved wife of the late Dr. Albert R. Rosanova Sr., MD; loving and proud mother of Mary Ann Rosanova-Kaper MD, the late Albert R. Rosanova Jr., MD, David (Mary Louise) Rosanova, Michael (Doris) Rosanova JD, Jerry Rosanova and Mark (Emily) Rosanova MD; cherished grandmother of Joseph, Willa and Angela Kaper, John (Rachel) Rosanova MD, Albert (Lori), Christopher (Crystal) Rosanova MD, Benjamin, Daniel (Ola), Adelaide, Ashley, Alexis, Austin, Laura (Gregory Philipp) Rosanova OD, Michelle (Tomasz) Milewski, Grace and Phillip Rosanova; great grandmother of 12; fond sister of the late Nancy Tazelaar.
