Audrey E. Birong, 90, Palatine

Audrey E. Birong, nee Walker, 90, of Palatine, formerly of Rockford and Lake Zurich, passed away Dec. 14.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 16, at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 185 E. Northwest Hwy., in Palatine. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17 at Smith-Corcoran. Entombment will be held privately at Memory Gardens.

Born May 31, 1923, in Chicago, Audrey was beloved wife for 60 years of the late John F.; loving mother of Carol (Norman) Ohlson and Gary (Linda) Birong; cherished grandmother of Christopher Birong, Michele (Spyro) Emmanouilidis, Jason (Brigitte) Birong and Michael (Laura) Ohlson and great grandmother of Kyra Emmanouilidis, Lycan Birong, Gretchen Birong and Johnathan Birong; dear sister of Joan DiFiglio and the late Lorraine Dannhauer; fond aunt of Marilyn Dannhauer, Lori (William) McNeeley, Tony DiFiglio and Lana (Bill) Escobar.
