Services have been scheduled for Albert E. Kraml, 78, of Palatine.

Albert E. Kraml, 78, of Palatine.

A celebration of life gathering for Albert Kraml will be held on Saturday Feb. 4 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Concorde Banquet Hall, 20922 N. Rand Road in Kildeer.

Albert was born Feb. 3, 1933 in Germany the son of the late Michael and Maria (nee Langmantel) Kraml and passed away on Tuesday Jan. 24.

Albert was trained as a cabinet maker in Germany and immigrated to the Chicago in 1959.  In 1961 he met his future wife Giesela Steffen and was later married in Germany in July of 1962. Upon returning to Chicago, he started his family and worked as a cabinet installer for General Cabinet and was active in the local German community.

In 1973 Albert built his house, - moved his family to Palatine and started his own carpentry business. Albert was an avid beekeeper, skier, soccer fan and nature lover. He most importantly enjoyed the time he shared with family.  Albert was proud to have used his craftsmanship skills to make custom furniture for his grandchildren which will always remain a great treasure.

Beloved husband of the late Giesela (nee: Steffen) Kraml; loving father of Elisabeth (Ken) Partyka, Christine (Mark) Betz and Albert M. (Terry) Kraml; dear grandfather of Andrew and Angelica Partyka, Eric, Jacob and Lauren Betz, Erika and Kristin Kraml; fond brother of Anna (Martin) Duermeier and Maria Taschner; also survived by  many nieces and nephews.

The family has requested that if you plan to attend the celebration of life gathering that you contact Albert’s daughter, Chris Betz.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Albert would be appreciated for Vitas Hospice, 580 Waters Edge Drive, Lombard, IL  60148.
