Members of Northwest Suburbs Organizing for Action (NWSOFA) will join other local groups to rally in support of proposals to reduce gun violence this Friday, February 22nd in Chicago.

Members of Northwest Suburbs Organizing for Action (NWSOFA) will join other local groups to rally in support of proposals to reduce gun violence this Friday, February 22nd from 3:00 until 5:00 pm at the Federal Plaza, located at the corner of Dearborn and Adams Streets in Chicago. The theme of the rally is "Now Is the Time."

"More than 90 percent of Americans support universal background checks for gun buyers," said Matt Flamm, one of the group's organizers. "Even 85 percent of gun owners agree that criminals and the mentally ill should not be able to buy guns at gun shows and avoid background checks."

Northwest Suburbs Organizing for Action (NWSOFA) was formed by volunteers who worked on President Obama's 2012 reelection campaign. The group is committed to work for progress and social justice. For more information, go to www.nwsofa.org or call (224)241-2012.
