Little City Board Gains New Director and Advisors
Three new members join Little City's Board of Directors and Advisors to support and advocate for children and adults with autism and other disabilities.
Joining more than 40 of Chicago’s finest public and private sector leaders, Little City Foundation recently gained three new members who will help generate awareness and much-needed funds for children and adults with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The newest member of the Little City Board of Directors, Dr. Michael E. McKenna, serves as the Vice President of Medical Management and Chief Medical Officer at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and Lutheran General Children’s Hospital. Associated with nonprofit healthcare for 29 years, Dr. McKenna brings a wealth of knowledge in healthcare related issues.
"I would like to thank Little City for accepting me onto their board. I feel honored to be able to be part of its mission to service those with intellectual and physical disabilities especially with their future health care needs," commented Dr. McKenna.

Dr. McKenna provides medical leadership and acts as a liaison to administration for a 1400 member medical staff. He provides administrative management to graduate medical education with ten chairs, more than 200 residents and fellows and more than 850 medical student rotations from three medical schools. He has established a new quality infrastructure, which led to marked improvement in health outcomes. Under his management, Advocate Lutheran General Hospital ranked as one of the Top 100 for overall quality among large academic hospitals by Thomson Reuters in 2011, among many other accomplishments.
Mr. Laurence M. Landsman and Ms. Mona Pearl joined the Little City Board of Advisors.

“I did some public interest work years ago and got excited about helping Little City,” commented Mr. Landsman. “Continuing the successes of Little City to help children and adults reach their fullest potential is something I feel passionate about… I experienced first-hand how much help and support children with cognitive disabilities need to get ready for life and if there is anything I can do to help, I’d love to help.”
Mr. Landsman is partner and owner of Block and Landsman. He is an experienced securities litigation attorney with more than 20 years of experience representing parties in various securities disputes. He believes in the importance of staying current on changes in the law that can affect securities litigation and in educating his clients about those developments. As such, Mr. Landsman has authored several journal articles on securities issues, been featured in industry articles published in the Wall Street Journal and USA Today and presents continuing legal education seminars on investment fraud.
Ms. Pearl is the Founder and Chief Operating Officer at BeyondAStrategy, Inc. She is also an Adjunct Professor at DePaul University.
