When you need an escape from your daily routine that includes too many beeps and buzzers from electronic devices, take a drive to one of Palatine's parks or prairies.
This past week I drove to a place where I knew I could find some tweets of a different kind. As I parked my car in the lot off Illinois, I ventured down the bike path with camera in tow. It was there I heard so many different kinds of birds in the thick of the trees. I even spotted a frog jumping in the bog behind the cat tails as it called out to other frogs who were making the most unusual sounds.They almost sounded like wild pigs.

I came upon a vast area of wildflowers that surround the pond. On the goldenrod (pictured here), were so many types of bees, flies and wasps that I had never seen before. This particular insect was very long, had the largest eyes, and the brightest bright orange body parts.
It was nice to get away from my regular routine , and take a walk while taking notice of nature and all her fascinating things with wings.
