For as long as I can remember, I've had a love affair with horses.
Like so many young girls, I daydreamed of owning my own one day which I was lucky enough to do in my teen years.
As a grown woman, I find that my adoration for horses has not fadest in the least.
A few years ago my husband and I attended a beautiful fall festival and horseshow in Barrington. It was there that I was introduced to a breed of horse I had not had the pleasure of meeting before, the Andalucian.
The Andalucian is one of the most ancient horse breeds. They have appeared in cave paintings that date back 25,000 years.
They originate from the Iberian coast that includes Spain and Portugal.
They are strong, yet elegant.
This black Andalucian seemed more than happy to strike a pose for me on that September day.
