My husband and I's favorite place in the world to go, is Leland, Michigan. Also known to many as "Fishtown". I started out going to Leland with my parents when I was a little girl, along with my my younger sister. For many years, it was the kind of vacation spot we just couldn't wait to get to. There was alot of "are we there yet mom? , are we almost there dad?".
Because once we arrived , we fished, we laughed, we walked the beach collecting colored stones. And best of all, we just spent time together.We made memories together that have lasted and sustained me for many years.

Leland is such a beautiful place. I could not imagine anything bad happening that would change it, let alone take it away.
The devestation that hurricane Sandy brought to the east coast makes me feel very sad. Not only for the many people who call it home ,and who love where they live, but for the people who consider the Jersey Shore their very own "Leland".
