Illinois PTA Presents Juvenile Protection and Safety Summit on April 6

Free Protection and Safety Event to Include Variety of Juvenile Safety Topics

Illinois PTA presents the first Juvenile Protection and Safety Summit on Saturday, April 6 from 10:00am to 2:00pm. This inaugural summit will include a wide variety of safety topics including internet safety, cyber bullying, bullying, and dangerous games kids play. Past Illinois PTA President and Past National PTA President, Anna Weselak, will offer a presentation on “Understanding Why Kids Act the Way They Do,” and the keynote address will be provided by Detective Richard Wistocki, High Technology Crimes Unit of the Naperville Police Department and an Illinois Attorney General ICAC Affiliate.

This free event will include a complimentary continental breakfast and is being held at the Hyatt Hotel, 1400 Corporetum Drive, Lisle, IL 60532. To reserve a seat, contact Matthew Rodriguez at mrodriguez@illinoispta.org by April 1, 2013. Registration will also be accepted at the event on April 6, but breakfast cannot be guaranteed for onsite registration.

The Illinois PTA was founded on May 30, 1900, and has since worked diligently to support public schools and to ensure that all children and youth have equal opportunities and access to a quality education.
