Walsh Holds Rally in Palatine, Decries Army Labelling of Christian Groups as Terrorists

Roman G. Golash, District 211 school board candidate, and former Congressman Joe Walsh attend a rally Sunday to discuss terrorism, Christianity, and censoring in the media.

Close to 40 people gathered at the Palatine clock tower in Volunteer Plaza Sunday afternoon, Northwest Highway and Hicks Road, with former Congressman Joe Walsh to rally against certain Christian groups being labelled as terrorists.

The rally, planned in just a few days, was a result of Roman G. Golash reaching out to Walsh on his radio program, then sending out emails and using social media to spread the word.

The Rally was a protest of the Army labeling certain groups as potential terrorists; specifically, Roman Golash said Catholicism and evangelical Christians, but not Islam. He also stated that the censoring of words such as Islamist and Jihadist is a slippery slope, and questioned at what point will the censoring cease.

Tip-toeing to avoid offending those who are of the same religion of actual terrorists is not helping the cause, Walsh said.

Walsh stated that the U.S. is morally bankrupt and there are those who are trying to destroy the moral fabric of the country.

He declared that white Christians are essentially dinosaurs where it is open season to speak poorly of them.

In other countries, Christians are killed and persecuted while the news media turns a blind eye, according to Walsh. About the  terrorists, Wash stated “I want to beat and fight them.” One distinction that Walsh believes is important is that extremist Muslims kill people whereas extremist Christians do not.

Jan Lamanna from Arlington Heights said that the U.S. needs to focus on its core values in order to stay a free country; values she says should be rooted in those of Christianity. She said that people need to “stop coasting by and get educated.”
