This week with the Rotary Club of Palatine

The recap of the Rotary meeting for the August 7, 2012

This week in Rotary was led by our own Hank from the bank in the tank from Rockin the the Block Fest.  He lead our trivia test with marshmallows or Martians.  As always most people couldn't answer the questions and donated their dollar to the club. Our speaker was George Couris, EVP with Pepper Group, a marketing technology company specializing in B2B social media George cited the power of technology to drive leads and generate sales. Pepper Group shows how to navigate the marketplace through such media as Facebook (fair) LinkedIn (good), Twitter, Pinterest, and others. Also, George discussed the growing popularity of Virtual Trade Shows, webinars , etc in a the area of Elements of Success. He pointed out the importance of Positioning and Message---Educate, Inform, Move How to developprocess, recreate format, distribute it, and finally Track & Follow up. He emphasized a strong web presence (attract-communicate-affirm, and capture. Besides checking out Pepper's website (Pepper Group), you can google "Chicago Marketing Firm" and there they will be. It was an interesting and informative presentation.

The main objective of Rotary is service — in the community, in theworkplace, and throughout the world. Rotarians develop community service projects that address many of today's most critical issues, such as children at risk, poverty and hunger, the environment, illiteracy, andviolence. They also support programs for youth, including leadership andeducational opportunities and international exchanges for students, teachers, and other professionals, and vocational and career development. The Rotary motto is Service Above Self. Our club motto is "Doing good Having fun maybe both.
