Harper club wrapping presents to help victims

Haven't wrapped those presents yet?

Some Harper College students with a knack for design are trying to bring a little joy to the victims of last month’s devastating tornado in downstate Washington.

The Graphic Arts Design Club is sponsoring a giftwrapping service and toy drive from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Dec.16, through Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the Z Building in the Avanté Center.

Students will beautifully wrap any gift and, in exchange, ask for a cash donation or an unwrapped toy that Club Advisor Kelly Taylor will deliver to a Washington-area organization for distribution.

“The students usually do logo creations, banners and other design projects to raise money for the club, but they felt it was more important to find a way to help the Washington community,” said Taylor, an assistant professor in graphic arts technology.
