Harper Men Take Third at Concordia

The Harper men's track and field team took third place at the Concordia University Invite. One Hawk qualified for nationals, and several others set PR's in their respective events and improved upon their national-qualifying times.

Here is a list of those athletes and their results:

-Ernest Downing () qualified for nationals in the long jump with a jump of 6.35m (20' 10") and set a PR. Downing also set a PR in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 58.45 seconds.

-Max Anderson (/Cary Grove) (2:00.38), John Majerus (Elk Grove Village, Ill./Elk Grove) (2:06.73) and Connor Williams (/Wauconda) (2:10.48) all set PR's in the 800-meter dash.

-Sebastian Ramirez (Lima, Peru/Palatine) (9:31.25) and Andrew Guibord (Crystal Lake, Ill./Prairie Ridge) (9:40.51) both set PR's in the 3000-meter run.

-Daniel Lim (Schaumburg, Ill./Streamwood) PR'ed in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.29 seconds and also set a personal-best in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.50.

-Brad Walls (/Palatine) set a PR in both the shot put (12.17m-39' 11 ¾") and discus (35.8m-117' 5").

-The 400m relay group of Downing, Tom Rohn (/Cary), Anderson and John Walker (/Huntley) set a PR with a time of 43.62 seconds.

-The 1600m relay team of Anderson, Majerus, Downing and Rohn took first place with a PR of 3:26.81.
