2,326 residents participated in the Thanksgiving Turkey Trot. Were you one of them?
More than 2,000 residents worked up an appetite for Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 28 by participating in the 33rd annual Turkey Trot, presented by the Palatine Park District and Lavelle Law.
Participants brought non-perishable food items to donate to the Palatine Township Food. Event proceeds will help the park district provide scholarships throughout the year.
The total amount raised is still being calculated, but organizers said the event was definitely a success.
"We did have 2,326 registrants, which is 207 more than last year!" said Joan Scovic, marketing coordinator for the Palatine Park District.
