Volunteer Opportunities in the Palatine Area
A look at five volunteer opportunities currently available in the Palatine area.
There are people and organizations who need the help of willing volunteers in the Palatine area.
And Patch.com knows there are plenty of residents out there willing to lend a helping hand.
With that in mind, Patch.com has looked to volunteermatch.org., a website aimed at bringing "good people and causes together," for volunteer opportunities currently posted for the area. Here is a look at five of those opportunities:
- Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) is looking for gymnastics coaches to assist Special Olympics participants. Read more on the Volunteer Match website.
- The Kenneth Young Center in Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights is looking for personal shoppers to assist area seniors. Volunteers will be assigned to a client who may need assistance with shopping, errands or getting out of their homes to socialize
- Children's Home + Aid is looking for a clerical support volunteer as well as someone to help with grocery shopping.
- Hanover Township Seniors Services will be holding a Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament on Monday, Sept. 23 at Bristol Banquets, 828 East Rand Road in Mount Prospect, and is looking for volunteers to sell poker chips and cash out players after their games. Read more on the Volunteer Match website.
- Palatine Emergency Management Agency is looking for volunteers for its Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.) and Palatine Medical Reserve Corps.
