Five Ways to Volunteer in Palatine

There are people and organizations who need the help of willing volunteers in the Wheaton area.

And Patch.com knows there are plenty of residents out there willing to lend a helping hand.

With that in mind, Patch.com has looked to volunteermatch.org., a website aimed at bringing "good people and causes together," for volunteer opportunities currently posted for the area. Here is a look at five of those opportunities:

  1. The Northwest Special Recreation Association (NWSRA) is looking for volunteers to  help a child with a disability learn to ride a bike. The organization's "Learn to Ride a Bike" clinic will be held June 2 through June 4 at Hunting Ridge School in Palatine. Get more information here.
  2.  Young At Heart Senior Pet Adoptions is looking for a volunteer to help save senior pets by coordinating its volunteer program. Get more information here.
  3. Palatine Emergency Management Agency is looking for volunteer members to join its Palatine Medical Reserve Corps. Volunteers will learn to work with first responders, augment health care resources, assist with community public health initiatives, and take care of yourself, your family, and your neighbors in the case of a disaster. 4. Bethel Lutheran Food Pantry in Palatine is looking for volunteers to help at its neighborhood food pantry. Read more here.
