American Legion Holds Texas Hold'em Tournament

The Sons of the American Legion (S.A.L.) are holding a Texas Hold’em tournament which is open to the public on Saturday, April 28th starting at 2:00 PM until Midnight at the American Legion Hall 122 West Palatine Road in Palatine to raise funds for Legion Family Charities.

“Come out, play some poker and have some fun,” said Garrett McNally, S.A.L. Project Co-Chairman.  “We’ll start the evening with some $2.00 to $8.00 cash games and start some $20.00 to $40.00 buy in tournaments as more people arrive.  The main tournament will start at around 7:00 PM and will cost $75.00.  One re-buy for $50.00 will be allowed.  There will be door prizes and prizes for the top five winners in the main tournament.”

Cash tables will run all night until midnight.  Sloppy Joes or hot dogs and tater tots as well as pizza will be available for purchase.  A service bar will be open upstairs for the tournament and a full service bar will be open downstairs in the clubroom.  “Our goal is to make this a friendly neighborhood game,” said Matt Christie, Project Co-Chairman.  “We encourage camaraderie between the players as well as with their dealer.”
