A Night in Casablanca…Your Passport to Morocco

Your passport to Morocco awaits…with a magical 1940s inspired Casablanca theme for the annual Women’s Auxiliary fundraising gala to benefit Wellness Place Cancer Education and Support. “A Night in Casablanca…Your Passport to Morocco” will be held on Saturday, August 25 at the Chicago Symphony Center, 220 S. Michigan Avenue in Chicago.  The elegant fundraising event includes dinner, live auction, music and dancing and is hoped to garner more than $100,000 for Wellness Place cancer programs and services.

Bringing in over $2 million since its creation, the Auxiliary gala has been a key component in raising awareness and funds for Wellness Place, located in Palatine.  This year’s event is chaired by two Barrington residents and Auxiliary members, Judy Benkendorf and Kimberly Gray.

The price per guest for the event is $250 with cocktail hour beginning at 7 p.m. and a seated dinner at 8 p.m.  A live auction will be followed by dancing to The Stu Hirsh Orchestra. A special attraction of this year’s event will be the presentation of the Pat and Vince Foglia Commitment and Loyalty Award to Peter Economos of North Barrington, who has been a Wellness Place board member and supporter for many years.

Wellness Place offers professional support free of charge, to individuals, families and caregivers affected by cancer. Specialized services are available foryoung children and teens. The facility is located at 1619 West Colonial Parkway in Palatine and serves the surrounding NW suburban Chicago area.
