Harvest Moon Bike Ride Scheduled for September 20



On Friday, September 20, Palatine Park District and the
Bike Palatine Club will be hosting the Harvest Moon Bike Ride. This new 7.5
mile evening ride will begin at 6:30pm at the Palatine Hills Golf Course. The
golf course is located at 512 W. Northwest Highway, Palatine, on the north side
of the street, between Smith and Quentin. The ride will follow part of the
Palatine Trail and neighboring streets, ending at the clubhouse for
refreshments. Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the
clubhouse restaurant. A limited number of Harvest Moon Bike Ride long sleeve
t-shirts will also be available for purchase for $12.

The fee for the ride is $5 for residents and $6 for
non-residents; pre-registration is available using code 6705-3. Registration
can be completed online at www.palatineparks.org, by mail, by fax, or in person at Community
Center, Birchwood Recreation Center, and Falcon Park Recreation Center. Helmets
and lights are required for all riders. This event is for riders ages 16 and
over, and all registered riders will receive a raffle ticket and goody bag. Additional
raffle tickets will be available for purchase after the ride. Raffle prizes for
the Harvest Moon Bike Ride have been donated by Mikes Bike Shop, Palatine
Police Department, New Belgium Brewing, and Palatine Park District.
