Great Backyard Bird Count

Citizens for Conservation, in partnership with Prairie Woods Audubon Society, presents the "The Great Backyard Bird Count".  This is an annual international event that connects bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of where the birds are all across the world.

We will join in the count by watching a video about birds, hiking a trail while counting birds and then head back to the pavilion at Citizens Park to compile our data.  While warming up with hot chocolate, each child will make a bird related clay craft under the guidance of a local artist.  Audubon Adventures activity booklets for each child are provided by Prairie Woods Audubon. A portion of this class is held outdoors so please dress for the weather with good winter foot gear, coat, hat and gloves.  bring your binoculars!

Class size is limited to 40 children so please register early!  COMPLETED REGISTRATIN FORMS ARE DUE BY FEBRUARY 8th.  CFC members are free; non-members pay $5.00 for the first child and $1.00 for each additional child in the family.  Please contact us immediately if you are unable to attend so that another child can participate in this class.
