Get Organized Chicago

Donate, Shred & Recycle At Get Organized Chicago

Event July 20

The National Association of Professional Organizers - Chicago, Allstate Arena and Chicago Sky team up to host a free public event - Get Organized Chicago

Chicago area residents are invited to bring up to one

carload of unwanted items to the Allstate Arena, located at 6920 Mannheim Road in Rosemont, Ill., on Saturday, July

20 from 2-6 p.m. for recycling, re-use or donation to Cornerstone Community Outreach and Goodwill Industries. The multi-purpose Get Organized Chicago event is designed to be a fun way for people to de-clutter their space while properly recycling and providing usable items to the

community.

“It’s a win-win situation,” says NAPO

Chicago President Amy Trager. “Setting

a date to get rid of unused items and having a location to drop them off can

motivate people to better organize their space, while also helping the less

fortunate and the environment.” More than 50 NAPO-related volunteers will be on

hand to accept donations and assist with the event.

Everyone who donates to the event

will receive 50% off ticket prices at the Chicago Sky basketball game that night starting at 7 p.m.

Also represented at the event will be Participating Sponsors 1-800-GOT-JUNK,

College Hunks Hauling Junk, Federal Companies, Shred Spot, TECH Restorations and

Swap.com.

Acceptable items for drop off include:

Clothing, books, eyeglasses, furniture, kids toys, shoes,

coats, blankets, kitchenware, computers, pots & pans, jewelry, linens,

decor, accessories, games, media, sports equipment, recyclables including

electronics, household batteries, paper, wood, aluminum cans and scrap metal.

NO paint, medicine, or hazardous waste will be

accepted.

“We appreciate everyone’s help in making this day a big

success,” says Mindy Taylor, from Cornerstone Community Outreach. “The items collected go a long way toward helping our community members live independent lives.”

Drawings will be held after the

event for sponsor donated prizes from Yours

Redesigned, Organize Options and Ayres Estate Services.
