Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner

They have no idea who is coming for dinner, or even how many, but members
of All Saints Lutheran Church in Palatine are making final preparations to host
a free community Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday, November 28 from 11 a.m. until
1:30 p.m. 

Ovens have been found to roast and prepare
all the turkeys and hams, green bean casseroles, sweet potatoes, stuffing,
mashed potatoes and more. A bakery in Hoffman Estates has donated pie for
dessert along with an assortment of pastries. Based upon their experience with
this community meal in the past three years they expect to serve more than 200
people.

“Thanksgiving is supposed to be a time of
recognizing how blessed we are giving thanks for that,” said Seth
Moland-Kovash, co-pastor of the church. “We know that many in our community are alone or separated from their families; we want them to know there is a place
for them at our table. For others, their financial situation makes it difficult
if not impossible to put a big holiday dinner on the table for their family. We
have been given enough and we want to share. All are welcome. No one will be
turned away.”
