If you are interested in applying for the 41st Spring Showcase of Arts and Crafts, please submit the application along with your entry fee, self-addressed, stamped envelope, and photographs (no slides, please) of your work.
Please submit at least three photos of your finished product, one photo of your work-inprogress, and one photo of your display. Please provide a description, including price range of items you intend to sell. Because the jury bases its decisions primarily on the photos supplied, quality photos are essential. We will accept applications until February 15, 2013.
Applications are accepted and juried on a first come, first served basis, based on the postmark. We limit the number of exhibitors in any given category. If your category is already filled when juried, or if you are not selected for any other reason, we will return your check and photos promptly after jurying. If you are accepted, you will receive a notice of acceptance as soon as possible after jurying. Your space assignment and more information will be sent in February. Our latest entries will be selected and notified in February.
* 90 artists - Only original hand-crafted work is accepted. We will not accept applications for commercially made products, imported items or food. We reserve the right to ask an exhibitor to remove items or leave the show entirely if this policy is violated.
* Show fee is $75 per space, plus a raffle item with a value of at least $20 per space. All raffle items must be quality, juried representations of your art or craft, as they will be displayed throughout the show, along with your name and space number. If you cannot contribute an appropriate item, we require a $20 donation per space, instead.
* Spaces are 5’ deep by 10’ long. A few are 4’ deep by 12’ long. Most spaces are in the school hallways. Electricity is available in most spaces for a charge of $10 per space.
Secure storage for extra inventory is available at no charge.
Exhibitors must provide their entire displays, including tables, chairs, extension cords, surge protectors, and all table coverings.
Setup begins Friday evening at 6:30 pm.
* We average 1,600 customers attending our show. The show is publicized via newspapers, radio and television, web sites, flyers, mailings and signs. Over 6,000 personal notices are mailed to local residents.
This show is run entirely by volunteers for the benefit of the NSSEO Foundation, Inc. Previously, the Spring Showcase of Arts and Crafts was presented by the Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority and the Kirk School Parent-Teacher Group (PATHS.) This year, The NSSEO Foundation, Inc. will take over leadership.
However, all proceeds will still benefit students with special needs including those served at Kirk School. The Foundation supports educational and therapeutic programs for students with special needs at the Northwest Suburban Special Education Organization (NSSEO) NSSEO is a cooperative of eight school districts working together to provide quality services for children with a variety of disabilities. Over the years, over $338,000 has been raised from this annual show for the benefit of these students. This money has been used for many necessary items, including a handicapped accessible playground, facilities for teaching daily living skills, communication devices, physical and occupational therapy equipment and much more.
