An Art Affair Around the Square

The Palatine Jaycees are taking artist applications for their 9th annual juried art fair, “An Art Affair Around the Square,” on September 7th and 8th from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM in Towne Square in Downtown Palatine at the corners of Smith Street and Palatine Road.

Artists from all specialties, including water color, acrylic, oil, pottery, fine jewelry, stained glass, pastels and others are encouraged to apply.  Applications are due March 15th and can be found online at artaffairpalatine.com or by email at jayceeartfair@yahoo.com.  There is a nominal entry fee and artists will be notified by April 16th of their acceptance status.

“We have been encouraged by the diversity of artists that have participated in the past and want to continually bring new talent to the show,” said Show Co-Chair, Chrissy Trilling-Raices.  “This is a quality juried art show and presented as a celebration of all forms of art, from the traditional to the contemporary.”

Besides a wide range of art forms, the weekend show includes children’s art activities and live entertainment by local musicians.  “An Art Affair Around the Square has a well deserved reputation among artists as an artist-friendly show,” said Barb Cima, Show Co-Chair.  “We treat our artists well with a breakfast both on Saturday and Sunday morning.  We will also watch their booths for them if they need to run an errand or while they go to lunch.”
