A Night of Jazz at Palatine High School

Palatine High School is proud to present their “Night of Jazz” this Thursday, April 10th in the PHS Café.  Both the Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Ensemble will be performing at this concert.  In addition, guest Soloist Chris Madsen will be the featured soloist as he will be playing tunes with both bands.

The PHS Jazz program has had a successful year, including the creation of a second jazz band.  In addition, the Jazz Ensemble earned a superior rating at the 2014 North Shore Jazz Festival in Glenview, IL.

Chris Madsen (tenor saxophone) is Jazz Studies Coordinator at Northwestern University and is very active in performing, teaching, composing and adjudicating in the Chicago area.  Check out his bio at http://chrismadsen.net/bio/.

The concert starts at 7pm and admission is free.  A Latte Sweets will also be selling snacks and coffee.
