Harper Golf Open Scheduled for June 11

The event includes 18 holes of golf, brunch, a cocktail reception, an awards banquet and a buffet dinner.

The Harper College Educational Foundation will host its annual Golf Open on Monday, June 11 at the Inverness Golf Club, 102 N. Roselle Road in Palatine.

The event, a fundraiser for student scholarships and programs, includes 18 holes of golf, brunch, a cocktail reception, an awards banquet and a buffet dinner. The cost is $500; those not wishing to golf can attend the reception and dinner for $125. Sponsorships also are available at a variety of levels.

The Open will feature a raffle – prizes include theater, spa, wine tasting and restaurant packages and foursomes at golf courses across the suburbs – and a live auction of Cubs vs. Sox and Cubs vs. Red Sox tickets and a weekend getaway. All proceeds benefit Harper’s Resource for Excellence Fund, which supports student scholars and Harper programs,

Past proceeds from the Golf outing has launched or helped support programs for the unemployed, an undergraduate chemistry research program, computer courses for participants of Harper’s Women’s Program and bridge programs that ease the high school-to-college transition and boost college success rates.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to come together to champion Harper College and our students,” said Lisa Dietlin, Interim Executive Director of the Educational Foundation. “The money we raise will contribute to the continued success of all our students and the overall strength of our community.”
