Here are this week's suggestions for something fun to do with your kids this weekend.

Why Go?: Free workshops on Creative Container Gardening, 2011 Plant and Flower Trends, Rose Gardening, Spring Clean-Up. Product stations, expert staff and vendors. Young gardeners will plant their own seedling and parents can help them decorate their own pot. Free coloring corner. Bring your garden tools to "Joe the Tool Sharpening Man" at the sharpening station and get your tools sharpened for a small fee. Complimentary refreshments.

Where / When: Miner School, 1101 E. Miner St., Arlington Heights; 1 - 3 p.m., Saturday, April 9.

Why Go?: The NSSEO Foundation's Spring Fundraiser features a magic show, raffle and ice cream social. Fun for the whole family. Funds benefit educational and therapeutic programs for students with disabilities in eight local school districts.

Pricing: $2 per person at the door

 



Where / When: Allstate Arena, 6920 Mannheim Rd., Rosemont; 3 p.m., Sunday, April 10.

Why Go?: Great ticket packages for the Wolves against the Rockford Icehogs. Some of the proceeds will benefit the District Fifteen Educational Foundation. See an amazing hockey game, laser show and fireworks.

Why Go?: Sing and dance along to old favorites and original songs with Jodi Koplin during this high energy show that will entertain your whole family.

Why Go?: See one of the most popular and enduring masterpieces created for the musical theatre. Experience the unique and exquisite production, Theatre Nebula and Music On Stage theatre companies' first collaboration, that tells the story of the final seven days in the life of Jesus of Nazareth.
