Why Go?: See the new 25th anniversary production of Les Miserables with new staging and amazing scenery at the Cadillac Palace Theatre.

Pricing: $45 for Harper students with ID; $50 for faculty, staff, seniors and general public.

Where/When: ; 6 - 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25.

Why Go?: Casual night of dinner and friendly but competitive games. Longest drive, closest to the pin, putting, baggo, 50/50 raffle and cash bar. Come to play or watch from a cozy seat by a fire. All proceeds benefit the children and families assisted by The Bridge Youth & Family Services.

Pricing: $50 per person; $85 per couple.

Where/When: ; 6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 25.

Why Go?: 27th annual dinner and auction event, support the students of PHS, hors d'Oeuvres, dinner, cash bar, dj, door prizes, raffle items, silent and live auctions. Dress is casual, open to everyone. Proceeds fund PHS school and students' facilities, programs and scholarships. Entree selections include roast prime rib of beef, champagne chicken, broiled lake superior whitefish.

Pricing: $50 per person for hors d'oeuvres, dinner and door prize ticket.

Where/When: ; 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 25 and 26, 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27.

Why Go?: LZP Production of the musical lost gem.

Pricing: $17 per ticket if purchased in advance; $19 at the door.

Where/When: ; 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 27.

Why Go?: Jump into the freezing cold waters of Twin Lakes Recreation area to raise money for the Special Olympics. Proceeds will benefit the more than 1200 athletes with intellectual disabilities in North Suburban Cook County.

Pricing: Free.

Where/When: , 350 McHenry Rd., Buffalo Grove; 9 p.m. - 2 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 26.

Why Go?: Live musical tribute to the Beatles by American English-the band named number 1 by thousands of Beatles fans in a sound-alike contest three years in a row. The band has also won Illinois Entertainer of the Year and Best Tribute Band. Must be 21 years old or older.

Pricing: $8 in advance; $10 at the door.

Where/When: McDonald Woods, on Grass Lake Rd, west of Route 45 and east of Route 83, Lake Villa; 4:30 - 6 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 26.

Why Go?: Learn about the special adaptations owls have as silent predators and why they are important members of the wildlife community. Take a hike and try to lure owls out with recorded calls. Event is for adults only.

Pricing: $6 for Lake County residents; $8 for non-residents.
