Del Mar Named Cook County Republican Deputy Chairman

Palatine's Aaron Del Mar has been named Cook County Republican deputy chairman.

Palatine Township Comitteeman Aaron Del Mar has been named deputy chairman of the Cook County Republican Organization.

Newly-elected Cook County Republican Chairman Sig Vaznelis announced the appointment Tuesday.

“During last week’s election process I heard a call for more representation for the Northern Suburbs. I am pleased to have such a young, diverse, and energetic Deputy Chairman in Aaron Del Mar," Vaznelis said in a press release. "Aaron will not only provide the Northern Suburbs with strong representation and leadership in our organization but all throughout Cook County. He will be responsible for coordinating our committees and providing strong leadership in outreach to all objectives of our party.”

Del Mar also serves on Palatine's Village Council, representing district 1.

“I was extremely humble by this appointment and am excited about the huge opportunity that lies ahead. I am confident that Chairman Vaznelis and I will be able to work well together to develop and expand the Republican Party in Cook County," Del Mar stated in the press release.

I disagree! Ruth Oconnell has Mike Madigan twisting arms! At least there is fresh blood - also call the "Do nothing" Gosslin for the Deer Grove issue.......

I thought the Palatine Village Council is supposed to be non-partisan? I think Mr Del Mar is a little too political for the responsibility of the Council.

Delmar never ran for anything before Village Council. What are you talking about? These comment trolls should have their computers revoked.

Thank God he is conservative. I don't know the guy, but anyone who is on t.v. keeping the pawns shops and tattoo parlors out of the nice community I moved into 30 years ago has my vote. You people probably do not remember when Rand & Dundee was a cornfield, and now it is a ghetto. We need conservative values to save us.

Alright, PalatineResident is trolling like a champ.
On a serious note, hate her or like her, I'm sure most people would have their photo taken with someone as famous as her. And if you knew what the event was for, you'd understand why he was there. CaB, you think Aaron is too political? Do you think you would do a better job? I highly doubt it. I love reading stupid comments like both of yours. It's nice to know that the there are idiots in this world outside of the White House.

Bill,
His vote for pawn shops may have had some personal interest as he owns a jewelry store in town that buys Gold and Silver similar to a Pawn shop.
