Coyote Attacks Trigger Plans For Township Seminar

Residents say coyotes live near Plum Grove Estates; killed Yorkie.

A recent rash of coyote attacks has looking into ways to help citizens protect themselves.

The Palatine Township board voted, Monday, to reserve a room to hold a seminar on coyote safety. The Township board acted after concerns from local residents and media stories regarding coyote attacks on pets in the Palatine area.

"They are here," Palatine Supervisor Linda  L. Fleming said. "And it is not just a rural problem . . . They have no fear of humans."
