Abandoned Dogs Need A Home

Two dogs that were abandoned are in need of a home.

is hoping that the holidays bring a home for two dogs that were abandoned there.

"We've been trying to find them a home for a couple of years now," said Katy Cushing, owner of A Closer Bond Dog School.

The two dogs — Ben and Jerry — are rat terrier mixes. Cushing said the dogs are about 5 years old and were owned by a couple who was going through a divorce and had four dogs. The woman moved into an apartment that does not allow dogs.

The dogs were brought to A Closer Bond after the man's house burned down. Eventually he picked up the two larger dogs, but he left Ben and Jerry behind.

"We told him he had a bill and that if he paid the bill and signed the dogs over to us we would try to find them a home," Cushing said. "We never heard from him again."

A Closer Bond trained the dogs and had them neutered. She said they would prefer finding a home for both dogs, rather than splitting them up.

Cushing said the dogs are house broken and are great animals.
