Tammy Duckworth, , addressed the Democratic National Convention Tuesday.
began by talking about her background and her service as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot in the Iraq War. Duckworth lost both of her legs when she was shot down in 2004. She then served as director of Illinois' Department of Veterans' Affairs and was assistant secretary of Veterans Affairs under President Barack Obama.
Duckworth's opponent in the November election is incumbent Republican Joe Walsh. Walsh did not attend the Republican National Convention last week.
"Last week Joe skipped his party's convention to spend time in the 8th district listening to the concerns of voters, meeting with small business owners and addressing the issues that continue to cripple our nation's economy," stated a press release from the Walsh campaign. "We can't say the same for Tammy."
Far left is being nice. Was cought cheating on her property taxes too! Took homeowners exemption deductions not entitled to. Bobblehead for Mike Madigan and Rahm.
I just read that Michelle Obama's speech at the convention was 7 grade levels above Anne Romney's speech. I do not know why over-simplistic comments like yours always surprise me I guess I refuse to believe that a small but vocal right wing that bases its beliefs on their gut rather than logic has had such an impact on our democracy. I hope that the electorate can remember the disastrous effects of the Bush two terms and this obstructionist republicancongress of the last term.
To avoid any further damage, we need to get all of these clueless, left wing liberals out of Washington, and bring them back to Illinois where they belong!
The State of Illinois is run by liberal dems, the City of Chicago is run by liberal dems, BHO comes from the same cloth. The worst state in the union with debt. I know it's George's fault. You can't see the huge debt crises that our kids and grandkids will be stuck with. Man up! At what point in time will you and BHO stop blaming others and take on ownership and take responsibility. "I didn't do it daddy, Billy did it." Or was it George again!

You are using the wrong metric against which to measure how much the stimulus really was. Firstly, let's just ignore the waste for a minute (Solyndra, wind powered bullet trains or whatever) and concentrate instead on just what has happened. The real effect of the stimulus, and consequent actions when the Democrats controlled the House, Senate and White House was to raise the baseline spending of the Government. They have raised the baseline from around 21% of GDP, to 25% of GDP which is unsustainable. Since the Republicans have taken the House, we have been using continuing resolutions to fund the Government (remember that the Senate hasn't passed a budget in 3 years, and Obama's budgets have gone down without even a single Democrat vote). This slowed the growth of government. BUT there are programmed automatic increases in a continuing resolution, so spending is still increasing, which is why Democrats find the status quo acceptable. So what we are left with is a higher baseline budget, one in which we spend about $1.3T more than we take in, with no end in sight which is about 40% of what we spend. This money is borrowed about 60% from China (if memory serves). Total revenue: $2.627 trillion (requested) $2.469 trillion (enacted) Total expenditures: $3.729 trillion (requested) $3.796 trillion (enacted) Deficit: $1.101 trillion (requested) $1.327 trillion (enacted)
Also, you are correct. The GDP is 15 TRILLION dollars. But you failed to mention that, under Mr. Obama's leadership, the national debt just surpassed 16 TRILLION dollars (the first time in history that our debt has outpaced our GDP). Is this the kind of CHANGE you were HOPING for? Mr. O has got to go!..........and he needs to take all of his tax & spend left wing liberals (including Tammy Duckworth) with him back to Illinois. If the American people are foolish enough to put this turkey back in the White House for another four years, we truly deserve all of the pain this will bring.
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/07/09/mit-professor-warns-of-enormous-disruption-from-rapid-technological-growth/ You use Left wing liberal as an insult, I wear it as a badge of honor, so keep spewing that rhetoric.
OK Dor. You go on proudly wearing that left wing monicker and continue voting for bumbling amatures like Obama. It's a good thing you don't live in a state like Florida or Ohio, where your vote might really mean something. Hopefully, the thoughtful folks in the swing states will save us from this disaster.
