In a 2010 study by Princeton University researchers, rats that had access high-fructose corn syrup gained significantly more weight than those that had access to table sugar, even though both groups at the same amount of calories overall. The rats that had access to high-fructose corn syrup also became more likely to have abnormal body fat increases and increased blood fats than other rats. *
