New to the Patch

Meet Chris Demeur: Amateur pilot, beer brewer, entrepreneur and Patch blogger.

Hello fellow NW suburbanites and thank you for visiting our/my blog. I have been spending some time trying to figure out the best things to blog about but I guess the best thing to do is introduce myself, my interests and expertise and let you tell me what you'd like me to blog about.

My name is Chris and I have been living in Palatine since 1995. I came out here from the Oak Park area for a job that I no longer have. Since I moved to Palatine I have started my own IT company that provides technology consulting for businesses, got married and became a dad...in that order. Our son will be 2 years old this summer and parenting has been nothing short of a very intense learning process. Can only help with questions on raising boys. Also interested in your stories about your kids.

I have also found personal interests that may interest some of you. My wife and I have become members of the Prince of Peace Lutheran church on Hicks and Cunningham Drive, I like to brew beer and try to stay in shape (I realize the beer and staying in shape really work against one another but what can you do?).

I spent a couple years as a student pilot but ran out of time and  money. I still like talking about flying though. One of my best friends, Jim, is a professional pilot who flies private jets all over the world and he is also a Certified Flight Instructor (most flying questions will be deferred to him).

Another of my best friends, Kevin, is a stunt man and you have no doubt seen his work if you ever watched the 1st season of Prison Break, the Dark Knight or Chicago Code to name a few.

That's it in a nutshell, I look forward to our future conversations.
