Palatine Family Law Attorney Launches Inaugural Scholarship Program

Greetings! Today, I'm thrilled to announce $2,500 in scholarships for college-bound high school seniors to pay for their advanced education, including college, nursing, business, trade, technical training and other similar programs.

The awards program includes four scholarships: one Grand-Prize Scholarship worth $1,300; one First Runner-Up worth $700; and two Honorable Mentions valued at $250 each.

Of the hundreds of families I've worked with in Chicago's Northwest Suburbs, I know most are concerned about how or if they can help their kids with college. Given my area of focus, I figured giving back through a scholarship program made sense.

Open to high school seniors residing in Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake and McHenry counties, the Inaugural Scholarships for College-Bound Chicagoland Powered by the Law Office of Nicholas W. Richardson, P.C., asks students to submit a 500-word essay on how the Bill of Rights affects their daily lives. The first 50 entrants will receive a copy of College PaperBuddy.

In today's tech-focused world, the craft of writing sometimes is overlooked. But being able to draft a well-written article, email or business letter is critical in today's workplaces and those of tomorrow. College PaperBuddy provides practical tips to help students earn better grades in a quick, friendly format and makes for a perfect giveaway for my scholarship program.

I'm grateful for all the support I've received since opening my own law office in 2009. Giving back is important to me personally just as the law is to me professionally.

All essays must be submitted through the entry form on my website, where complete rules are also available. All submissions must be received by April 1, 2014, and winners will be notified by email by Tuesday, April 22. Winners will also be mentioned on the Law Office's Facebook page, and their winning essays posted here.
