Vision for Vacancy: Former Quentin Corner Pocket

The former 24-hour-a-day pool hall at 755 N. Quentin Road went out of business in January of 2012. What do you think would be the next best use for this property near the intersection of Northwest Highway and Quentin Road?

Vision for Vacancy. It's tucked slightly out of the way, so if you weren't a regular pool player there, you may not have noticed that Quentin Corner Pocket has been out of business for about a year.

It had been in business in Palatine since 1996.

The former pool hall, which is roughly 4,000 square feet, was open 24 hours a day located at 755 N. Quentin Road, never sold alcohol, and was open to pool players of all ages.

The Quentin Plaza Group strip mall, where the building is located in, currently houses Oak Alley Saloon and Old Oak Pizza Co., New India Simi Grocers and Linda Cleaners.

The remaining vacancies in the mall on the west side of town, in addition to the former Quentin Corner Pocket, include a former Maytag Laundry, martial arts studio and small business office.

The entire complex consists of two equal-sized buildings totalling 18,000 square feet of space, with 60 parking spaces. The mall is currently for sale, according to John Compobasso, a commercial real estate broker with Keller Williams who has listed the propery since earlier this year.
