Shay's Closet Celebrates Grand Reopening This Saturday

Stop by this classy, eclectic and a little bit funky boutique at their new location at 11 N. Bothwell in downtown Palatine.

Shay's Closet has a brand new location in downtown Palatine, and is celebrating with a grand reopening this Saturday.

The eclectic boutique is now located at 11 N. Bothwell in a bright, larger new space with selections for a wide variety of tastes.

It is a resale, retail and consignment store featuring designer fashions, biker wear, accessories, hand-crafted jewelry, footwear, novelties, home decor and much, much more.

Owner "Shay" is a Palatine resident, and previously was in business on Railroad Avenue since March of 2011.

After Shay left her profession of designing kitchens and baths for builders, she decided to open the business based in part on her passion for fashion.

"I had all of these beautiful, professional suits and clothing I no longer needed, and I began by reselling my own clothing, then friends began to donate clothes for consignment and the busines began to grow very quickly," Shay said.

When the opportunity came to move to a larger location to fit the burgeoning business, Shay jumped at the opportunity and reopened there just recently.

Items for sale include new, newer and even items with the tags still on them.

"Name brands and the highest quality are a big part of what I offer, my selections are very eclectic and a little bit funky; our clients range from business people to biker enthusiasts," Shay said.

The grand reopening will feature hors d'oeuvres, and raffle prizes including exciting gift baskets and blown glass Murano-like necklaces. Raffle winners will be drawn that evening, but winners need not be present.

Discount specials of 20 percent off jewelry and 30 percent off winter-wear also will be offered.

The grand reopening will be held Saturday, December 1 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
