New Construction At Former Alemar's Location Coming Along

The former Alemar's location is getting a facelift, and is expected to open by the end of August.

The owner of the former Alemar's location, 795 W. Dundee Road, in unincorporated Palatine says he is planning on opening by this fall once construction is completed.

The restaurant is getting quite a facelift.

Tom Coutresis said Tuesday he is currently building an additional 2,000 to 3,000 square feet onto the existing building at the intersection of Quentin and Dundee Roads by extending the front entrance and building new bathrooms.

He added that the kitchen will be doubled in size and he is considering adding a smaller private banquet space toward the back of the building.

Other amenities he is contemplating are an outside coffee bar and a fountain near the front entrance.

As far as a name, Coutresis said he has narrowed down the list and will make a decision in the coming weeks.

The restaurant will be what Coutresis calls a true pancake house, with lunch and dinner options as well.

He is also planning on a later evening crowd with lighter dinner and outdoor seating options.
