Winter Farmers' Market

The public is invited to a Winter Farmers' Market on Sunday, January 22nd at Countryside Church Unitarian Universalist in Palatine from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  It will be sponsored by Faith in Place (www.faithinplace.org), an interfaith environmental organization.  By hosting this event, Countryside Church seeks to build community support for sustainable food production and those who work the land.

Those who shop at this market will:

  • provide an additional source of income for vendors during the off-season,
  • promote sustainable farming methods and economic justice for regional farm           families,
  • encourage healthy, wholesome eating,
  • support the building of relationships between producers and consumers.

Locally grown or produced products for sale will include cheese, grass-fed meat and free-range poultry, eggs, cheeses, soap, syrup, honey, wool, raw fibers, vinegars, dried fruits, breads, sauces and salsas, preserves, fresh produce as available, and much more. The public is invited to shop to their heart’s content or enjoy coffee or tea and a snack from the local suppliers.
