The eatery at 51 W. Wilson St. serves lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday and provides a fresh, made to order menu-which is getting rave reviews.

Dario's in downtown Palatine opened Memorial Day weekend and has quietly built a solid business over the last few months.

Dominguez, along with his wife and co-owner Andrea, take a very hands-on approach to the business, and one or both are always there during hours of operation.

The restaurant is open Mondays from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 7 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Dario's is closed on Sundays.

In addition to eating in, carry-out orders are also available. Ordering ahead of time is suggested, especially around lunchtime.

The menu is described as a fusion between Italian and Mexican flavors.

Popular items include the Fiesta Panini-a classic combination of hearty Italian bread with roasted pork-fused with habanero aioli, Chihuahua cheese and roasted peppers. Specialty flatbreads, with a spin on the traditional pizza-like offering, also have been a big hit.
