Area Business Fined $26,000 for Fatal Explosion

Neil Nicholson, 55, of Itasca was killed on May 22 when the machine he operated at Arens Controls exploded in May of 2012.

Arens Controls, 3602 N. Kennicott Avenue in Arlington Heights, has paid more than $26,000 in fines after a federal probe uncovered five serious violations following an explosion that killed a 55-year-old Itasca man, according to the Daily Herald.  

, according to previous Patch.com reports.

At the time of the accident, officials believed it was accidental.
