Register Now for Nicasa's 5K Run/Walk

The Friends of Nicasa volunteer group is proud to present Nicasa’s 5K Run/Walk at Old School Forest Preserve in Libertyville on Saturday, September 21.  Approximately 150 individuals and families from across Lake County are expected to participate in this event that shows support for healthy lifestyles and recovery from drugs and alcohol.

The 5K will be a community event and fundraiser in support of healthy choices and recovery from drugs and alcohol as a part of National Recovery Month.  The event is generously sponsored by The Stephenson Family Foundation; Prairie Benefits Network; Lesser, Lutrey, McGlynn, & Howe, LLP; and Heidbreder Building Group.

 

Race proceeds will benefit Nicasa, a behavioral health and substance abuse treatment and prevention agency serving the Lake County area.  Founded in 1966, Nicasa has been providing quality substance abuse treatment programming for 47 years.  Dedicated to their mission to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent and treat substance abuse and addiction, Nicasa’s programs and services target men, women, youth, children, and families.  They include in-school and after school programs, youth and family therapy, Teen Court, parent education classes, counseling, gambling services, comprehensive women’s services, and a residential recovery program.

Packet Pick-Up: Race packets will be available on September 20 from 3:00-7:00pm at Golden Legs Running, 508 N. Seymour, Mundelein, IL 60060 and on Race Day from 7:00-8:00am at Old School Forest Preserve.  In person registration will also be available at both times.
