Man Shot in Inverness by Suspect Lying in Wait

The shooting occurred on Friday night in the 100 block of Crichton Lane. Police are still searching for the shooter and another man who were already inside of the home as the victim and his girlfriend returned from dinner.

A man is recovering from a gunshot wound after being shot by an unknown intruder in Inverness Friday night.

At approximately 10:15 p.m. Friday, Inverness Police, assisted by the Palatine Police Department, responded to a call of a man shot in the 100 block of Crichton Lane, according to a press release from the Inverness Police Department.

Earlier in the evening, the homeowner and her 63-year-old boyfriend returned home from eating dinner when upon entering the home, the boyfriend was confronted by an unknown suspect and shot in the abdomen.

Then the subject, along with another individual who was in the home, fled on foot.

An employee at Inverness Golf Club said police searched the club after the shooting to ensure the suspects were not hiding out there.

The victim had non-life threatening injuries, and was transported to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where he is in stable condition, the release stated.

Inverness Police are seeking assistance from the public in identifying the two subjects who remain at-large:

Suspect #1 (shooter): White male, 5’8”, 200 lbs. 50-55 years of age, grey hair

Suspect #2: White male, 5’10” thin
